Our custom saunas are built in our Noosaville factory and delivered fully fitted. Choose from traditional Finnish wood-fired or electric, or infrared panels for a lower-temperature, deeply penetrating heat. We line the interior in Western red cedar or thermory ash — the timbers of choice for premium saunas worldwide.
Finnish or Infrared?
Traditional Finnish sauna heats the air to 80–100°C. You control humidity by ladling water over the stones (löyly). The intense, enveloping heat is what most people picture when they think sauna. Deeply relaxing, socially enjoyable, and proven in the research literature for cardiovascular and recovery benefits.
Infrared sauna runs cooler (45–60°C) and heats the body directly rather than the air. Lower power draw, faster heat-up time, and a gentler experience that some people find easier to tolerate for longer sessions.
We can build either — or a hybrid that does both.
Design Options
A basic sauna is a simple insulated room with a heater and bench. But we can add a changing room or cool-down area, an outdoor shower connection, a viewing window, or external decking with a plunge pool provision. The exterior can be clad in Weathertex, timber weatherboard, or Colorbond to match your existing home.
Approval
Backyard saunas are Class 10a structures — the same approval pathway as a garage or garden shed. In most Queensland councils, a compliant sauna will be accepted development. We’ll advise on your specific situation when you enquire.
